Infinity New Tab

So after a long time of using Speed Dial [FVD] for Chrome I finally switched to Infinity New Tab.
Both are new tab page replacement extensions for Chrome, meaning when you open a new blank tab they populate the tab with links of your choosing – favorites, bookmarks or custom links. They are pretty similar in function although I like the look and feel of Infinity New Tab a lot more. Switching took a bit of time as I had to recreate my main page links, but in doing so I weeded some pages out that I don’t use as frequently as I used to. This also gave me a chance to investigate my bookmarks bar, which had been getting quite cluttered.

Here’s a screenshot of Speed Dial:

And a screenshot of Infinity:

Infinity New Tab lets you upload your own background image or choose from a variety of images from Infinity New Tab or Bing. Here are some of its features from the Infinity New Tab description in the Chrome Store:

1. Wonderful Icons: With flat design style, including more than 200 domestic and international popular icons.
2. HD Wallpapers: Carefully select 365 wallpapers from 35,000 HD ones to match the icons so that a new wallpaper is available for each specific day; Of course, you may also select the pictures from your computer as the wallpaper
3. Cloud Sync: Back up real-time data to the Cloud, and allow Onekey Recovery from the Cloud.
4. Intelligent Mail Notification: Gmail Mail Reminder.
5. Todos: Check the things to be done and the things that have been done at any time.
6. Personalized Search: Select your favorite search engine and customize additional personal search engine.
7. App Extension Management: Manage your extensions quickly and conveniently.

Customizing your browser experience can be a very personal matter, and change is not easy. But once in a while it’s good to explore new options. If you have a favorite new tab replacement extension or other browser customizations that you love let me know in the comments.
