So after a long time of using Speed Dial [FVD] for Chrome I finally switched to Infinity New Tab.
Both are new tab page replacement extensions for Chrome, meaning when you open a new blank tab they populate the tab with links of your choosing – favorites, bookmarks or custom links.They are pretty similar in function although I like the look and feel of Infinity New Tab a lot more. Switching took a bit of time as I had to recreate my main page links, but in doing so I weeded some pages out that I don’t use as frequently as I used to. This also gave me a chance to investigate my bookmarks bar, which had been getting quite cluttered.

Infinity New Tab lets you upload your own background image or choose from a variety of images from Infinity New Tab or Bing. Here are some of its features from the Infinity New Tab description in the Chrome Store:
