I don’t think I’ve ever had “no unread items” in my Google Reader, for some reason I would scan the newest headlines and perhaps read one or two posts, but leave all the rest unread – thinking I would get back to them. At times certain blogs would have hundreds of unread posts. It wasn’t uncommon for all the unread posts to add up to thousands.
Lately I began unsubscribing from the blogs that I rarely visit and marking all (older) posts as read after I read the posts that interested me.
