The best content discovery tools

Sure, I get most of my news from Facebook and Twitter but lately I’ve been trying to find more curated content. I’ve been using Feedly for awhile now and like it but figured I should investigate some other tools.

Yesterday I stumbled across Buzzsumo. “Analyze what content performs best for any topic or competitor. Find key influencers to promote your content.” Buzzsumo’s free version lets you see top performing content, sorted by Facebook engagements, Twitter shares, etc. By finding only the top performing posts it may not actually deliver the most exciting or interesting content, but it is interesting to see what content gets the most traction.

This morning I found the article “The Top 5 Content Discovery Tools for Marketers” by Emily Bauer, which recommends: Swayy, Feedly, Scoop.it, PostPlanner, and Reddit. I’m familiar with Reddit and Feedly but not the others, and while I wouldn’t consider myself a marketer I may just try them out.

What content discovery tools do you use? Do you have any experience with the sites mentioned or recommendations? Let me know in the comments.
