There’s a pool of images I recently discovered over at Flickr, that highlights Lifehacker users’ tricked out computer desktops called Lifehacker Desktop Show and Tell. Aside from the very cool desktop wallpapers, this site often features annotations about how they hacked a dock or system tray, icons and/or functionality.
The first thing that struck me about tricking out your desktop is basically the fewer icons on your desktop the sleeker it looks. Surprising what a little desktop cleaning can do. I’ll be testing some of the various launcher applications and other tricky features soon.
I haven’t been posting as frequently as usual around here due to a mental sabbatical, but I’m feeling quite refreshed now and ready to face new challenges. Perhaps I’ll write more about that soon.
